Yaquina Head Light
Oregon's tallest lighthouse extends out from the Oregon coast, one mile into the Pacific Ocean. Standing 93 feet tall at the westernmost point of the basalt headland, the lighthouse has been a bright beacon of the night, guiding ships and their supplies along the west coast since the light was first lit on August 20, 1873. Visitors can climb steep stairs to the top for an incredible view.

Beverly Beach
Beverly Beach is popular for a reason! Like magic, a well-known walkway goes under the highway and emerges to the long expanse of sandy beach extending from Yaquina Head (you can see the lighthouse from here) to the headlands of Otter Rock.

Moolack Beach
Moolack Beach is a sandy, uninterrupted beach on the central Oregon coast that stretches for nearly 5 miles.

Agate Beach
Diggers, this park's for you! Razor clamming is a favorite activity as well as surfing. If you plan to visit prime Newport attractions like the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Hatfield Marine Science Center, you must stop in for a refreshing picnic at Agate Beach.

South Beach State Park
Situated next to the Yaquina Bay Bridge, South Beach State Park begins in south Newport and stretches several miles down the Oregon coast. This historic park offers a variety of recreational opportunities. The paved jetty trail provides a perfect place to jog or ride a bicycle.

Newport Historic Bayfront
Enjoy the many restaurants, galleries, boat tours, gift shops and more. The Bayfront area is home to Oregon's biggest commercial fishing fleet. Sea lions also inhabit the many private docks and public piers.

Oregon Coast Scenic Railway

Favored for its accessibility and height, Munson Creek Falls is an impressive waterfall with a stunning 266-foot drop, making it one of Oregon's largest falls and certainly one of the most beautiful. The base of the waterfall can be approached by following the lower trail, which is a relatively simple half mile stroll.

Park staff are ready at the Whale Watching Center to answer your questions and help you spot gray whales. Located along the seawall in scenic Depoe Bay, the center is a perfect spot for you watch whales as they blow, dive, spyhop and breach. Whale watching takes place year-round on the Oregon Coast!

Fogarty Beach State Area
Where the creek and ocean meet, you'll find ingredients that make the spirit soar. Discover this park's perfect wind-sheltered picnic areas. In case of rain, head for the covered picnic shelter. Walk the wooden footbridges arching through the Sitka spruce, western hemlock, shore pine and alder forest.

Whale, Sea Life and Shark Museum
The only Whale Museum in the state and the only museum in the world that focuses on individual gray whales. The museum features a section on Oregon’s summer resident gray whales, a whale, dolphin and porpoise room, a shark room, a tropical ocean room, an intertidal display with cubbies of common and worldwide invertebrates, a seal, sea lion and sea otter room, a seabird and shorebird room and a theater room.

Boiler Bay State Wayside
A miraculous and rugged, basalt-rimmed bay, Boiler Bay is a great place to watch wild surf action on the rocky spurs. This splendid panoramic viewpoint presents a good opportunity to see migrating and resident gray whales. Take your binoculars -- this is one of the best sites in Oregon to see ocean-going birds.

Devils Punchbowl
Surfers and surf watchers energize this area! During winter storms, water from the restless ocean slams with a thundering roar into a hollow rock formation shaped like a huge punch bowl. The surf churns, foams, and swirls as it mixes a violent brew. The punch bowl was probably created by the collapse of the roof over two sea caves, then shaped by wave action.
